Reflections

Touch the water of reflection
Ripple circles infinity
The touch will break connection
And drift into eternity.

You cannot hold onto a dream
It’s made of mist and vapors run
And though it is desires gleam
It lifts into the morning sun.

Take the night for what it’s worth
Treasure it a worthy thing.
Those fancy phantoms of the earth
That pause the rage that life would bring.

So cast your net upon the sea
And reap the bounty that you get
Play the mist that brews the tea
Never weigh it as a debt.

It is a gift of nights delight
Unless you turn it into fright

Here is the some day I adhere
as mist swirls around my ear
its whisper sighs me circumspect
and I remain with much respect...

perhaps you will never know, Sy, how often I seek your words of wisdom and how often, how very often, they tell me true...
