Nineteen
Might as well have been Ninety-One.
Fast Man and a fast car...
Fast line too.
He called me "Girl"...

Falling head over heels,
giving myself to the speed of him.
Those words, so intellectual..
Impressive...

But,
A heart of stone
The heart of a User....
One who uses for personal gain
He was, he did and I was...
So ashamed...and
heartbroken...

So pregnant...
I cried, I don’t think I ever stopped.
Mexico, the quick fix for pregnancy...
So scared...and now...so alone...
Just me and the world....
As he sped away...

Fast fingers,  he let them walk...
Walk over my heart...
As he walked down the aisle....
With her....my best friend...
Smiling as you sped off

As I cried....

and....I still hear him calling me...
calling me "Girl"

I've reread this poem 4 times! A very thought-provoking piece of writing. I think I have to go back and read it a 5th time! It's saying something to me, but I don't know quite what yet.....Excuse me while I go and get a tissue.....

Linda,  HUGS to ya...  This is about a very
tough moment in a young woman's life....
Having been taken down a path by a man who
was older, faster and less in love than
she was....  I wrote this for her... a
moment of her past, many years ago,  but
still very clear within her mind and heart.

Magnus - yet another wonderful write. Well done dear poet. Chris

I've been down that road and sometimes wonder now if I'm still on it...

(big huggssssssss) Oh Barry, I'm so sorry for your early loss, sweet friend, I know how missing someone like this must feel and I underatand how it does take time to truly understand what love is and I know that if she looks back now she will always think of you as a special person and forgive you! (sigh) This is heartfelt, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Barry, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Magnus,

How enlightened you are and so senitive.
I'm amazed at how you are able to see outside of yourself and how in touch you are. This wisdom can only come from experience and a real desire to care.

Kudos to you!

Fast cars and hands, but a poem slow enough for me to read and grieve over.

Noah,  thanx...but this is not about me ...

I am not the fast fingers, fast cars dude,
though there was a day when I could have
been...and in ways, probably was....

But, I assure you,  I didn't match up to this guy....

He is something else...
