I long for the simpler times of yesterdays past,
When the heartbeat of Life had a comforting cadence.
Everyone knew what to expect from their world,
For there was a sense of security in the day-to-day
sameness.
Alas, familiarity has given way to change.
Soft breezes of gentler days have turned harsh
And these winds of change are gathering speed
As they sweep us down the information highway
Faster and faster and...
STOP!!!...I want to get off!!!

Hello, everyone!--or should I say "anyone" who reads this posting. I for one, love the information highway! Look where it's brought me----to PIP and all of you incredibly wonderful poet people! I often stretch myself and write about how others feel---such as in this case! I just felt the need to clarify that!

As always, a beautiful write!! I myself have often longed for simpler days..I've often said I was born 100 years too late. I can't compain about the information highway much anymore, though, because it too has brought me here...and I love you all.
