Oil and light
down a hill covered with yellow flowers and green grasses

With words you rolled with folly itch skin
and little girl whim
but I was a little girl then
and you were a story

The house sits a splendid thinking giant
looking over the ocean
the red roof nesting in the trees you climbed
your eyes windows

Was this where you first noticed color and texture
I wonder

Then later     you smelled the turpentine
and caught it like a virus in your lungs

You could taste it even in your little boat
where you wished the wind would take you
back to your brush

It was part of your hand then

She talked to birds
you see
with a whistle    surprised that it should come
from a  flowered dress
and a neglected waistline

She was my lemonade
---------
in memory of my grandmother Blanche Baker Buck...with a photo taken of her oil painting.
With thanks to Nan for the help with the photo.

(big hugggssssss) God Bless You, sweet friend, I can tell just looking at your grandma's beautiful painting that you have a close resemblance to her, you both have golden hearts filled with love and innocent smiles of warm hope! (kiss on cheek) This brought tears to my eyes as this poem truly is lemonade to her as you are lemonade to us all, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Martie, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Martie, this was fasmatastic!
In its own, it was unparalleled artwork.
Each line:  a pearl.
The coup-de-grace was the original oil.
If you ever put a book together, make sure you
include the image with it.

your eyes windows
now I know where you got your eyes that "see on thru"

and like that brush was to her...your pen is to you...and I am ever grateful for the view.
How tenderly she has inspired you with her grace. A lovely tribute...how very very cool to have that picture as a keepsake.

In the space between now and then
I lost the fire, lost a friend
and Ill never be the same again
Still, I believe in the innocence
we gave away.
