With dawn the dream did slip away
it doesn't live in light of day
only within a dark dreamscape
does love slip through the guarded gate.

Unable to bring the dream alive
upon my lips a lonesome cry
again with sun comes the why
the real of love gone into night.

If for a time, eternal perhaps
in light of day the dream could dance
bring out of dark the sweet romance
then my cold heart would stand a chance.
