Sun Drops of Morning

I cannot see the morning for the sun
much as the trees for forest at the dawn
I cannot see the winning for the game
much as the nimble for the lame
I cannot say the words I have to say
for the paragraphs of idiocy in the way

What would the evening bring
if it had a voice;
would the powers that be
reiterate a choice?
Could nonsense be found
in logic that’s presumed?
And food found in the fodder
that’s consumed?

Could a mind that’s set aside
for want of thought,
presume the messages
that a life has wrought?
If there were thinkers
that were sage,
would there be something whimsical
about the page?

If Alice had found a wonderland in life
would she have ended up a wizard’s wife?
If crawdads could dance beside the stream
would they have needed entrance to my dreams?
If there were something I truly had to say,
would I continue on in this array?

The morning of this day is rising high
as flies and sun drops flit about the sky.
I sit and press the keys in nonsense phrase
seeking for a thought or two to raise.
Short circuits seem the nourishment at hand
as sands in hourglass and minutes span.

Oh, whisper words of innocence my friend
the thoughts in cumulus defend,
they drift about within the sea of blue
that hovers over earth with naught to do,
but let the sun drops of the morning seep
into the hearts of those who rise from sleep.

And should a treasure rise above the muck
certainly we’d awaken rascal Puck.

perhaps it should be "Sun Drops of Morning Madness"

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

I enjoyed this piece of poetic pondering. I too, have used the "if" word to provoke thought. Check out my "If Superman..." on page two. It's good for a laugh!

I think you might be right about the title change "Sundrops of Morning Madness"...LOL But poetic pondering always leads to some great stuff and this is no exception.

VAS,
Madness is part of gladness, that is part of happiness, that is part of enjoy, which is what I did.

This was excellent. This was wonderful. This was a joy to read.
