God, I want a million dollars,
Please grant the wish for me,
I want to purchase happiness,
For all of those in need.

I want to build a school,
Where kids would never fear,
Hire the greatest teachers,
Start each class with prayer.

I want to build some houses,
For the homeless on the street,
Food for all the hungry,
Nourishment for the weak.

I want to make a different world,
We've ruined this one so bad,
Guess we never realized
Everything we had.

People suffering everywhere,
The news is grim most every day,
TV's all sex and violence,
Our morals are in decay.

So grant this wish for me dear God,
I'll use the money in your name,
Well, I may buy myself one little Porsche,
And put "God" on the license plate.

Your poem touched me so much... I was checking to see how much of a donation I could make to such worthy causes... and then hit the last verse! ROFL... and here I thought Bal was the only one calling himself God. LOL

This is fantastic, dear one... I really enjoyed! *S*

Mr.Toe...
Why do you always say that you can't write?
This is fantastic... absolutely fantastic...
I chuckled real hard at the end...
I can just imagine you driving a Porsche with "God" on the license plate.  It sure would make people stare at you...
Just for the record... I have a license plate which reads CHIPMNK...  a far cry from God... but people are always asking me about it.

This was beautiful...Enjoyed!

You got us!  I too wanted to start off a fund, but if this were my wish, I think I would just go for it without the punch line, but then it would be "my poem" not yours this is "so you!" Cute!

The most valuable thing you own is a smile, wear it, and share it.

Toe darling man and speaker of the worlds truth only you could have written this, truly this is an awesome and amazing piece of writing. This is simply exquisite writing, how well you write of your wishes for the world in which we live, and how truly blessed we are here by the touch of your writing. This is what I mean when I say how special a writer you are, the quality the form the style all shout your name, this is excellent writing truly one of your best. And as for the punch-line, it seems extremely fair to me, and only what you deserve.

I love it and say again YOU are special, and I love this utterly utterly utterly. Honestly this is pretty near perfect poetry, it is full of giving and the punch-line brings a smile what more can we ask for. Well, done

Thy coolness and they balm

Toerag, Toerag, Toerag, *shaking my head in dismay*
You ask for a million dollars, nearly every day.
When will you learn, my frustrated friend,
That you can never be
A man who's loved by all the gals
In Passions Poetry?

"tsk tsk tsk," you'll reply I am sure,
That I am full of nothing but the finest cow manure.
But looking around at all the sighs
I'm sure that you have found,
Long John is the better man
That this board has ever found.

heh

Great poem Toe - I love ya man.

I thought it great poetry
that you wrote for all to see
yes you asked for lot's of dough
but that's typical for you Toe.

A noble prayer though I found
didn't have a greedy sound
a porche is not too much I'd say
as long as you give the rest away.

Toe,
ONLY a Porshe, how low can you go? Now if it was me I'd want a Pontiac GTS.

Hey, Toe! Beer bellies don't fit into Porches too well....if I were you I'd opt for a station wagon

Other than that, this is one cool poem, Toe-man....good to see you around a bit again

love this.....what a 'heart'

I once heard a comedian who said he was buying a porsche and he only had to work 240 hours of overtime a week to make the payments.......rofg....so yep if you got a million bucks you might be able to afford one....*smile*

Well, I don't know how much a Porsche costs these days Toerag ... but I sure love the sentiments behind all of the happiness you would work toward with the remainder. I really enjoyed this ... and the surprise ending ... well done!

Best wishes,
/Kit
