     Today I sat visiting with you for awhile,
     I talked about all the things that have
     happened since you have been gone.

     You listened as you always have.
     I was quiet as I heard your words
     of wisdom come to me once again,
     like they always have.

     I told you how much pain there has been
     since you have been gone,
     how so much has changed
     since you have been gone.

     As the wind blew
     I felt your fingers touch
     my face,
     I heard you say be strong,
     do not cry.

     I smiled, said Thank You
     for always being here,
     for always being the one
     I can count on.

     I stood up to leave
     although I wanted to
     stay longer.
     Thank you for the memories I treasure,
     I said as a tear fell from my eyes~
     and I kissed the flowers
     laying them on your grave
     saying Daddy, I love you....

If I have touched one heart through my words, then I have acheived my dream...

Donna, this is lovely. I too, miss my father...and my mother. But, I know that they are with me everyday in spirit. So, I speak to them once in awhile and smile or allow a tear to fall. Heartfelt write. hugs to you, Chris

This touched me very deeply, Donna...
My father is buried in NY, so I don't get to visit his grave often...
but I do visit the graves of my husband and son, and so I can feel what you say here...
so very beautifully
