Gritting my teeth
I dug my boots into the shingle slope
I could longer see the target
The next step my only concern

Lacking the strength to manifest it physically
My mind howled with rage
Furious anger
At my immanent failure

Glancing at my father
Fierce pride and strength
For the first time
Humble in his eyes

My heart shattered at the sight
Overwhelmed by mental anguish
I uttered ‘He was always so strong’
And slumped to the floor in tears

I rose almost instantly in fear of the cold
Still crying I walked on
I Appealed to God
Through my frozen balaclava

I drove on enfused with new energy
Heart pounding in my skull
Mind and body
Screaming in protest

The summit in view
Was I going to make it?
I stopped and turned back
Stumbling down the slope

Putting his arm around my shoulder
Walking slowly on together
We wept with joy
Reaching the summit as one

(big hugggssssss) Oh Aaron, I cried all throughout this poem because I know these trials ever so much and now am so happy He has shown me the way! (sigh) This is touching, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Aaron, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!
