Predictions abound that the Omega draws near
And life as we know it will soon disappear,
For then Satan's legions will march every line,
In nineteen hundred and ninety-nine.

Nostradamus and Cayce, to name you a few,
Were the prophets whose visions most often came true,
Revelations of earthquakes and famine and war,
Will rid us of Satan as God reigns once more.

Our Lady of Fatima's third prophecy
Is a mystery withheld by Rome's papacy,
Some say that it speaks of the skies raining fire,
Of the earth breaking up and oozing with mire,
Of smoke in the heavens and of vaporous seas,
Of the coming of Christ bringing man to his knees.

As the Age of Aquarius follows the Fish,
Man will know peace and heavenly bliss,
But much of our world will be gone by that time,
And only the chosen will remain of mankind.

But hope springs eternal in God's faithful fold
That they'll be delivered to streets paved with gold,
To rejoice in the dawn of the new rising sun,
In the year of Our Lord, two thousand and one.

(big hugggssssss) Oh Linda, this is incredibly fascinating, sweet friend, I have read some of Nostradamus' excerpts and though some of them haven't happened it is amazing how we prophesized some true happenings! (sigh) I too wish for some kind of rujuvenation, sweet friend, this is wonderfully said, we all love you so much! Youn have such a beautiful heart, sweet Linda, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Golly gee Noah, you're the only one to have read this poem! I suppose the other poets thought it was old news when they saw the title "Two Thousand and One"!

Hey now Linda...some of us just take longer to read all this wonderful poetry and post a reply..so give us a little time,we'll get there. I REALLY LOVE this poem.Even though it did not come to pass in 2001,I DO believe it is coming, but as "hope springs eternal in God's faithful fold"  I'm looking forward to those "streets paved in gold"
"and man will know peace and heavenly bliss"...sigh.. Oh for that day..
Peace,love,light and happiness

Earth Angel,
A prophet is never recognised in his home town, I guess the same holds true for a poet. Well written poetry.

Whoops! I think I might have been a bit hasty with my first reply! I suppose I was rather impatient because I was so eager for some feedback on this one.
Thank you all for reviewing this piece so favourably.
