within a whisper...

A smile upon my face-
You see it everyday.
You think that I am happy,
But you don't see the price I pay.

You see me laugh and smile.
You see me carry on.
But you don't see the sadness,
What I feel when everyone's gone.

You think that I am brave.
You think that I am strong.
But you don't see inside-
You don't know that you are wrong.

You see me helping others.
You see the work I've done.
But you don't really see
The person I've become.

The smile upon my face
Deceives you everyday.
You think that I am happy,
But you don't see the price I pay.

Sad to see the ode to false smile...the facade that covers up a deep sadness.
Best wishes my friend. ThisDiamond

This was a telling poem..and I have to admit..I feel the same about now, as the words in your verses.
