In the end the tube'd nose
labored breathing, hospital hose,
eyeful fears do you suppose
that life was lived?
Who knows?

Did we spend our lives enclosed
in needless grieving, selfish woes,
tearful years, the road we chose
was unforgived
who knows?

Late at night clothes liberate
we'd repose, deliberate
on music, art and procreate,
engender
passion's throes

Silenced she to my debate
that life has only Love as fate
my downfall, I couldn't wait
Love's tender
crowning blow

So I joined the mourning ranks
in carelessness my spirit shrank
sought to lose myself I drank
blind to
the moonglow

Nearly did I walk the plank
a dreary end of dark and dank
thinnest thread of hope I thank
declined
to let me go

Love's a stalwart inner core
whose glass once empty, it repours
limitless its reservoir
so to its well
I go

Soulmate find me, my amour
my own search if forevermore
will be a quest worth dying for
or live in hell
I know.

Eloquent, wise, sad and hopeful words, RSWells. I loved this poem.

Mike

P.S. It's "its" for possessive, not "it's."

*sigh*
Why is this so far down?
It should be where everyone will see it.

I will not bend to the cowardice of a silent judgement.

I expected a much more flowery poem..that shows I haven't read you in a while...this opens quite well, there is a taste of intrigue...and the closing is also intersting.

Ah but the glass is now half full instead of half empty.

And to find a soulmate is worth the effort of your quest, and I shall hope you find one.  Excellent write of a relaxed hand and mind.

Sometimes out of the thinnest thread can spin new colors.  I enjoy your thoughts here...deep and intense.
