Caught in a hail storm,
and pelted in pain.
Can't complain though,
'cuz we need the rain!
Turbulent skies,
winds moving fast,
storm passed too quickly,
rain didn't last.
A trickle here,
a trickle there,
though the storm was noisey
the ground's still dry and bare.

And I wonder about the melting
Antarctic and Arctic ice,
and shrinking Rainforests.
Whose rolling the dice?
Is el Nino to blame?
Or is greed, a human vice?
What have we done to
our Mother, the Earth?
Have we sacrificed all
for some transient worth?

As the hail hit my head
I asked the clouds, Why?
No answers came back,
just a windy sigh
with more hail from the sky.
So I covered my head,
closed my eyes,
and prayed for more rain,
to wash our ugly footprints away.

I knew there was a story in this a few days ago.  All questions seem big when they go unanswered.  Thinking...sometimes it really is as simple as a few drops of rain.  Damn good write, Kacy.

Kacy,
Hope you asked al those questions after you got inside! I love a good storm. We need some here for sure. Four year drought they expect will break only because records show no drought lasting any longer. Hope they're right!

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Duncan, thanks. Yes, unanswered Q's really bug me!

Larry, I tried to send this storm to Arizona, but it fizzled out after making a lot of noise. I can do a camelhair bikini rain dance. Would that help?

I wonder the same thing...
I was wathcing the weather channel and they were talking about the "reasons" for the droughts and I thought to my self Paybacks are hell...thats the reason.
Always good to read your rhymes of conscience Kacy...

NOW....about that "camelhair bikini rain dance"
Go for it girlie!!! LOL...
me thinks we'd pay money to see it

In the space between now and then
I lost the fire, lost a friend
and Ill never be the same again
Still, I believe in the innocence
we gave away.

We're getting plenty of rain here now that it's hurricane season.  I love thunderstorms.

I love storms as long as I am safe  at home..but I will take the rain any day over hail...and  we  are expecting several days of it and no one will complain..

(big hugggssssss) Oh Kacy, I know just how you feel, sadly I feel it is mostly man's fault and that breaks my heart how there are still so many Polyannas and not as much Cassandras working to try and prevent the worsening of nature! (sigh) This is sadly powerful, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Kacy, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Yes,JM, payback is a wicked witch. thanks for your reply.
Auguste, I agree, rain is wonderful. Hail isn't much fun unless you're under a hardhat or inside a sheltered area. thanks for your reply.
Sy, thanks. I was glad I didn't get knocked out. LOL, it was wild for a minute or two.
Maureen, yes, I actually love the rain. But the hail is bothersome.
Noah, sadly, 'tis probably true that much of our misery is from our own misguided mistreatment of our Mother Earth.
