In dreamtime days of long ago
There dwelt a solemn miss
Who drifted through tomorrow's dreams
Found in a key of promise
A promise made and promise kept
That she gave with every kiss

But draped o'er her soul was a veil
Of aching loneliness,
What had happened that the kiss
Became a lovers' mess
She did not know, she could not say
But failed in her own test

Beggared by lost chance of fate
She waits for something new
Not knowing what but waiting still
It's all that she can do
Captured by the hand of fate
Each kiss is hope anew

Her yearning soul tears the veils
Of promise made and kept
Constituting future dreams
In silence she has wept
The drifting of the golden hue
Has closed her mind and slept

In promise made and promise kept
Lost chance has called its due
From dreamtime days of long ago
Her future rides on through
Her promise made and promise kept
Will colour her soul blue

Until the day the circle breaks
And she, herself new meaning makes
Then promise made and promise kept
Will call the love in dreamtime slept
And each day begins anew
With love's first kiss to see her through

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown

Very beautifully done, Keth...
It sounds like the poor girl holds the key to her own shackles and doesn't even realize it.

(big hugggssssss) Oh Kethry, this is powerfully bittersweet, sweet friend, I still yearn for my first kiss so much too as I wait for Joanna to hold my hand for the first time! (sigh This is very aching yet beautiful, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Kethry, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Kethry,
This poem made me slow down and really read the heartache and strength of these words.

I feel myself being swept up in a whirlwind of emotion as I read your words. That's what poetry is all about, isn't it?--Moving others as you were moved by life's experiences.   Linda

Much meaning in your
words today for me Lynne.
This was so lovely and flowed
dream like. You always write
with such flair. I may not
always respond, but please know
I always read.

Keth beloved heart sister and holder of tomorrows promise, what you did with the phrase is exquisite. You realise of course that Krissy will be gnashing her teeth when she reads this. Gnashing them because she didn’t write anything half as good Truly darling heart when you write and I pause and wish I could write as well as you), and this is superbly written and makes me sigh deeply  Truly exquisite writing, now rest and recuperate, get well soon darling heart. (Don’t do too much,) I’m not being altruistic it gives me a chance to catch up

YOU know I love this utterly utterly utterly, the flow the style the content are all exquisite, bravos resounding all the way back to the gallery on this one and encore, but not till you’re better *Smile

Love and warm stuff
As always
Slushy

Breathe through the heat of our desire
Thy coolness and they balm
Let sense be dumb let flesh retire
Speak through the earthquake wind and fire
