The computer came
yay, yippee
had some trouble
of course, that's me
account won't click
it's made me sick
can't sign up today
at least not all the way.

So unregistered I'm here
just a nobody I fear.
Until guru shows his face
I'm here in my old place,
just need my broad band now.
I'll get him here somehow!

Cause as I'm sure you know
dial-up can really BLOW!!

Frustrated

Hey...
Welcome back to the world, Anne...
I'm so happy that you got your computer, and I know the frustration you must be going through getting the broadband...
but, truthfully, Anne....
But there is an old yiddish saying...either that or my mother made this up but
"It should be the worst thing that ever happens to you"
congratulations on your new puter... Have you got a name picked out for her/him yet?
Mine is called Della because she's a Dell.

Today, I shall have cable!! Mom gets her machine back, which was also fried in the surge. I bought a new router and cpu_guru has promised tonight I shall be speeding through the internet as if Wyle E. Coyote himself were on my tail.

I should say for those I have now confused. Mom's was sort of southern fried. A slow death really. Each day a little worse till it just crashed. Needs a new mother board and a hard drive. What a surge that was. Also the security light in the back yard, slowly waned, and died. That was some  surge is all I can say.

Thank you Marti. My new computer is up and running. I am using the peoplepc internet that came with the package. It's such a long and wierd story. Turns out my old computer was not in that bad of shape. My brother, the guru, took it apart and put in a new ethernet card and that is what mom is using now that her computer is at the doctors office. It's an old computer and she is not happy with it at all!! Time Warner also had to come out and replace the modem because it was dropping packets and was moving at the speed of molasses. It's amazing what that power surge did to the electrical systems in this house. And there are surge protectors on everything!! Kind of scarey and I hope it never happens again. I will be passing the old computer down to my son. Thank you for your response.

I liked your verse!   When I can afford it I need to get a new computer. But I'm afraid I'd have to put it together, and that would be disaster!

I love it. Cable is way better than dial up.
