Connective tissue of a homey type
joins family rooms set just right
occasionally decorated to tame front door entries
usually barren when resources are scanty
allows nimble guests to saunter past
lead crystal mirrors topped by a matching chandelier
courses regal retreats where blood lines flow clear
outide closed doors strangers dare not ask ..

and holds back pot bellied intruders
stopcocked at doorposts where talk runs ruder
leads the thief that crashes in to steal
carries odours of the plate..leftover meals
morning light is filtered, children cling to dreams
caged canary lowers feathered throat in song
parents begin to raise an arguement to scream
pendulum on corridor mantle maintains loyal swings
ribbon of parkayed floor accompanies what life brings.

What a busy scene this one is, Martin! Teeming with life, in all its assorted and sometimes sordid variety.

It reminds me of a dollhouse...or should I say a cross section of a house with it's exterior wall taken off so that we can see whats going on inside...
I love your descriptions.
