There is no darkness here
only the twilight of another day
softly spoken night words of love
are all you’re allowed to say.

Bring your heart into this quiet
and lay down upon my breast
breath slowly and enjoy
the solitude of this rest.

Worry not about the morrow
it will be there when you wake
put yourself into my hands
you give and I will take.

Give me your harried worries
give me your day of stress
I’ll take your cares and stroke them,
soothe them with my caress.

In perfect harmony, we’ll sit
and wait til your soul is eased
then with your smile, I’ll know
that you have been well pleased.

My goodness ... this is just beautiful~

Thank you all for your kind comments. This is one of my favorites - thought it would inspire me to write..my writer's block is the size of an iceberg!

Pieces like these really make me feel like perfection does exist in the form of selflessness
Very inspiring, that iceberg doesn't stand a chance!

Oh now, this is lovely - smooth as silk. Enjoyed reading - putting it in my library. Chris

Sharon-
This truly is beautiful, and I can understand
why this would be your favorite.
I can certainly relate to that iceberg-sized
writer's block.  I hope it starts melting for
both of us VERY soon.
Much enjoyed this, my friend.
Hugs,

I know about those blocks, and I know about this kind of love.

Thank you.

You truly are a poet divine! By the warm responses this poem has engendered, I am quite certain that the proverbial writer's block of ice is now melting into an azure pool of poetic magic.
