~Poetry Website Addiction Disease~

Crimson nailtips fly the keys
fingered motions of plastic ease
memory burned into the touch
letters and words and phrases and such

the tappity-tap as poetry grows
with pretty fonts and colors, just so
the clickity-clack of thoughts on track
imaged as words of yakkity-yak

emotions of love and humor addressed
words of passion, so clearly expressed
a sickness for which there is no vaccine
a poet's addiction to words through screen

feeling those fingers tapping the keys
poetry website addiction disease
~

I like it that the little happy men are the same color as your lovely sweater...it's so they can come incognito, isn't it!  This website keeps arthritis from creeping in, doesn't add calories, expands one's mind, and above all...

adds to the list of friends...

All of the above are true, Karilea except it also burns calories...
I type like a maniac!  At least I can still do SOMETHING fast like a true chipmunk.

I never noticed that they were the color of my sweater...before... well, I guess they are.
Thanks so much for your reply!

My poor husband ends up doing most of the housework because of this addiction...
its a good thing he loves me.

Thanks so much for your reply, Dawn...
Its a wonderful addiction though...
I think it probably saves more lives than it takes but it takes more time than it saves.

Sue...  I KNOW you are addicted...
I think your computer means much more than it should to you...and of course to me and also to just about everyone else at this site.
Oh my goodness... what did we ever do before there were PC's and before there was an internet?

Lyra,

My eyes locked on to your repose
and now I have been exposed

Yes, yes is there no cure?
The tippy tap is spreading for sure

The clickity clacking is tickling my brain
all of your words are a singing refrain

The phases keep coming like leaves to a breeze
I see that it's spreading, this website's disease

Hugs,

Electra...
I think I remember one thing we did...
Do you have a vague memory of about a year ago when we were trying to keep that stupid research park away from our neighborhood?

I wish we had been here then, so we wouldn't have wasted our time doing that stuff...
don't you?

Lyra,

I learned alot. Both good and bad. I learned to value my time and to choose wisely as to how I should spend it. But, most importantly, if not for that whole excerise I would not have met you! That is what made it all worthwhile. Joanna is gone, her precious energy wasted. She was a very dedicated woman and for that I am humbled.
I think of her when I think of the BTR, her efforts will live on in the lessons I have learned from her. Now, let us look ahead.

With tender hugs,
Electra

How can any of us ever forget Joanna...
She literally gave her life to save the neighborhood...so sad
But new friendships are sometimes formed under the oddest of circumstance...
and I am happy that it brought us together...
I hope you have pleasant dreams tonight, Electra...
I'm sorry I reminded you of the BTR fight.

Lyra-
You've got me smiling big with this one.
I know this addiction all too well, and
there's just no beating it.  I can stop
for a little while, but then I fall off
the wagon again, and I'm right back at it..LOL.
I'm just loving this fun write.
Hugs,
~Vicky
