Little Star

Little star up in the nighttime sky,
Your brillance always catches my eye,
A star to guide the shepards to,
A new baby born, a life so true.

Little star millions of years old,
In your grasp, many stories you hold,
A chance I'd give to learn the past,
New lives began in a land so vast.

Little star just out of human reach,
In your wisdom many lessons you teach,
Shining upon a world so grand,
From prosperous cities, to small farm land.

Wishing upon the same little star,
You suddenly don't seem quite so far,
Seeing you, brings mankind peace,
And for a moment distances decrease.

Oh what a very sweet poem, Dawn...
I have been quite agitated today for some reason, and your poem really helped to calm my nerves.

Dawn, I love your poem. So much can be learned from just gazing at the sky, and so many lives are connected, as each star in the sky has so many eyes concentrating on them at one time. You can never know who else may be entwined together with you, as you ponder in awe at a simple star. Thanks for sharing your wonderful poem here for our eyes to capture.

Dawn,  this could just about be a lullaby.

Don't we all wish on a star from time to
time?  I certainly do....

Very nice, thank you...
