the inability to speak
in lesser number of words
the growing imbalance between
sugar and salt
fire and ice
true and false
light and dark
heads and tails
right and left
short and tall
and the futility of it all

there is no true justice
there is no true truth
things are what we are made to
b e l i e v e
put your money into funds for relief
and they shall spend it all
on the NEEDY
that are themselves

every day hurts a little more than
yesterday

and I think Love is a drug
that helps you forget the pain
and maybe,
just maybe,
that’s why people crave --
for Love gives attention
fulfils ego, pride
forgives flaws
uplifts the hearts
of the real NEEDY
and it even satisfies the body

yes, I need some share of love
is there a world bank or IMF for love?
how can I register?

I am a pendulum
swinging between
the oldest and the youngest
the strongest and the weakest
28 year old in this world!

and I am hanging
by an ever s t r  e  t  c   h   i   n    g

Sudhir, your wisdom is ageless...
and it is so good to see you writing again!
You write like a sage
and this one pleased me very much!

I too, think love is a drug...I am trying not to be addicted because when the love isn't there it is so hard to recover from the
"drying out" time

hugs
M..
*I would have thought you a bit older for being so wise)..I read that age  question in discussions and was surprised

I started highlighting. Wanted to save this and that, wanted to comment on this and that. I highlighted the whole poem. This feeling you have, I have it too. As do many I think. In a world where love is claimed on a street corner, still there are so many longing. A great write. And a keeper for me!

O, the woeful duality of existence...  This is gorgeous.

O' to be delivered from the realm of the rational into pure song...

It's somehow comforting to know there are others who are NEEDY, that I am not alone out here.

Sudhir, once again your words have touched me.

i listened to:

"...Love gives attention
fulfils ego, pride
forgives flaws
uplifts the hearts
of the real NEEDY
and it even satisfies the body"

and i thought:  maybe that's not real love.  i nodded with agreement during the 2nd stanza. and the cynicysm of "the NEEDY" is very much like the cynicism of those who sell love as merely a means to satisfaction.  if we expect a benefit from love (as we might from a drug) perhaps we need to rediscover what love really is, and can be.
