I'll not spend my days in misty haze,
in deepest gaze of Life's maze,
perceived as daily stage plays,
remembering old ways,
anticipating new ways.
Where to go next?
What to do tomorrow?
Why did I think
life's road was
all pink and rosy and clean?
My days are a purple haze
of discovering new ways.
I graze on the past,
feeding on old ways,
savoring the new days.
Nothing stays the same.
And that is fine with me.
For I seek only the Future,
not the Past.
When I look back
at the Past I gasp.
Time to exhale, slowly.
Breathe in deeply,
for the Future is here.
The Past you cannot keep.
And that is fine with me.
To gaze in a daze
as if surrounded by
misty haze
is not my style.
I seek only the Future,
and hope it finds me
looking Forward,
and not into the Past.

Damn you Kacy, get out of my head.  Did I mention I was glad you're back?

Yes, I believe you did.
Glad you liked this one.
Writing it helped me 'clean house.'

This is good
because
we need everyone
to be looking forward
at new ideas
and new solutions
as much as you
willingly do
A much needed piece
Thank you

Gabriel, thanks! It's never easy, is it?

Lauren, my email server is acting funky, but will be upgraded this weekend, so I'll send you a private grr next week.

Sigh, wow, thanks dear friend!

Nancy, it's good to be back in here, where I belong. And I'm trying to keep my house clean.

Midnitesun,

So true, look ahead: Kay surrah, surrah, Whatever will be, will be
The future is ours to see
Kay surrah, surrah

I remember hearing that song when I was a little kid. I think Debbie Reynolds sang it for the musical carosel.

"feeding on old ways
Savoring the new days... love it!

You must be young at heart, Kacy...
I find it so very hard to let go of things.
I think my brain is like a cluttered attic, nothing ever leaves but new things keep getting put into it.

Lyra, maybe more of your memories are worth holding onto? Thanks for the reply, and yes, I do feel young at heart.

Duncan, it may affect you differently each time you read it because you are constantly changing, evolving....

Food for thought! I've been there!

Like you I play,
and make my way,
in the sunshine of
the dawning day!

Take care! Keep writing!

Nothing does stay the same,
life's growth feds solely on change.

I wonder ...
just how beautiful your northern light looks now in the western night sky ...

... looks brillant from here.

Wow, I am humbled by that reply Craig!
I like what you said about change, it is so true. You should post it as a new, separate poem. (fix any typos first)
