Finally Lori and I have gotten our act together and written a poem. It's been a while since our last. We miss each other lots.

Mike

Sweet sweat
The sweat of your aching body
covers me
in soft sweet waves.
Trembling together
in search of comfort,
knowing completion
only in each other's arms.

I want to know the moments
of your breath's desire.
Want to see our songs
in heavy-lidded eyes.
Want to feel my mouth
opening your mouth.
I want to know my touch in you.
I want to know your touch in me.

I want to be complete.
It's you who makes me whole.
Caress and shiver
and fall together;
unbound passions.
Oh, break my heart
so together
we can gather up the pieces.

I have no need
for desperation;
just the need of aching whole.
I have no need
of ministrations;
just lie here, darling,
against the door.
Shh.
Lie here with me
on the floor.

Where did you go?
It's cold in window spills.
The tracing bloom of searchlight headlights.
The passing of cars.
Come back to me.
Write me in your words.
Take me to your star.

For without you,
the night sky is dark and endless.
Without your touch,
my body waits.
There are fears that can
never be defined
until I feel a piece of you
slipping away.

So hold close,
the conjoined trembling of us,
and breathe your poetry to me.
Hold close,
my sad lover,
and share your sorrows with me.

In every touch
and moment
and breath,
I lose myself
in your soft hands.

tiptoeing away...
I didn't see much!
this was deeper than a duet, you two
I was wondering if it would happen
thank you
brian

Nope, but I don't think it's explicit ... just full of a longing ache. And I've seen things posted here that I was surprised were able to stay.

In short, I like this little poem where it is. Let's hope others do, too.

I love you, babygrrl. *kiss*

hmm hmm.. (nudge nudge)
it is true. in all of my life, i have never experienced anything that felt even remotely more complete than those precious moments in the arms of a loved one

Ok, OK Get a room, you two!
(actually, I think you will find the santuary fairly quiet)

Great job, been wonderin' on thw "when" of it.

In reply to "which way do we go?", the answer was never "straight", but, "progressively forward".

I understand this feeling so very well, being a newlywed.
Before we lived together, David lived in Indiana and we only saw each other on weekends...and oh that sweet ache, you two describe it so very very well...
Thanks for posting it here.....

At least the angst of distance makes for good poetry, hm?

Thank you all for reading and appreciating. This poem was an impulse that almost died, but luckily didn't. If that made any sense whatsoever.

And I find it very cool that by replying to a poem I've co-written, it gets bumped back up to the top again. Dude.
