Whence I must rest beneath the green
of grasses mown and wooden knell.
Whence I must lie in still refrain
as sadness sounds the brassy bell.

For in the mome’ of my demise,
the last breath left of ragged chest.
The closing slow of time worn eyes
whence once I’ve gone eternal rest

I lived each beat as does the rain
that flows into the brook of clear.
Falling gently ‘gainst pebbly grain.
No sadness, pain of one’s own fear.

Whence dust does take the bone to ash
from cent’ries of the blanket's lie.
No hopes to shatter, tatter, dash
for all was gave in warrior’s try.

And ‘pon the stone in scribble write
the words shall say to all who read
a poet died one dreary night
whence once the heart did flowing bleed.

In search a raven.....evermore....
Upon the tap tap tapping at my door...

From whence did come this teary tale
Of good poet’s cast into the vale?

Nay, Sire, ‘tis not yet time nor way of claim
To quit thy write before the fame

So shed the dark and don the light
And write, good poet, into the night…

Wow!!! Oh Barry, once again you speak from the more darker aspects of life with the blood of Edgar Allen Poe at heart, I love it! (sigh) This is somewhat depressing yet so very powerful, sweet friend, I love it, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Barry, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Whence comes the lay of sun to moon
as stark of light becomes the noon
Thy poet writes in feathered quill
Yes my lady,  I will,  I will....

For thee doth give to heart one beat
whence more do come and not retreat
As words do flow from weary sage
I write to you,  upon this page....

Thy Whisper touches once this soul
to quell the noise of brassy toll
Till darkness does the earth befall
I write my lady,  I give my all..

Noah...

These words of sad and heart torn say
before the eyes will once more play.
And in the mome' before I've passed
A final write...I'll give...my last.

Yet till the bell in quietness tolls
a pen shall flow from one of souls
and thee wilt see these words again
from heart of me,  a weary man....

Hello Barry

You never cease to amaze me with your masterful array of words.  Each time I read something from you the words touch my heart in so many ways. This one was so sad, yet filled with the beauty of your soul.

Take care......Sue
