~* The Topic Of The Day *~

The clock ticks on
and it seems like only yesterday
that the absence of curly locks
or those two front teeth
were the topics of the day.

Whose eyes, ears, nose were they?
So quickly the hands turned,
And like the clicking of ruby slippers
a magical world of Oz had already begun.

So awestruck at day's end,
every waking moment a question,
or an answer causing adult giggles.
Each story recited more magical
than the next that all
are now the most valuable of treasures.

But still the clock ticks on,
as one year rolls to the next,
through the softness of a baby's cocoon
emerges the beauty of a young girl
to soon enough become a woman,
and I don’t want to miss a second.

And now another cycle begins.
Again, the absence of curly locks
or those two front teeth
seem to be the topics of the day.

The top three are Victoria (Tori) as Dorothy on Halloween, at the shore, and into my makeup again!
The bottom photo is of Natasha (Tasha), her baby sister - and now it is her turn, so the clock ticks on.

Kit, this one is for you - thanks for the inspire!

The most valuable thing you own is a smile, wear it, and share it.

For Kit?  Not for this gramma?    Oh well, I'll just be vicarious and read it anyway, and tuck it safe into the lavender sachet to pull out again another day...

Ah Noah ~ What woudl this palce be without your kind and gentle heart - and a kiss on your cheek too young man

Munda ~ If those munchkins made you smile then all thier mischief is well worth it

Karilea ~ Kit inspired it as she loved Tori's picture with the makeup all "splotted" over her face, and I sat thinking about how I adore these two little folks, but it is a CHALLENGE now to all Grammas to write more about the kids, they have so much to offer in smiles.

This is lovely Sharon..
I adore the pic of Tori in the ruby slippers!
They do grow up so fast though...
Now I can hear "Sunrise, Sunset" playing in my head.

Ah shucks - thank you for letting a tired Gramma brag...(and I mean tired, as I had Tori for 4 days.) Lord, I forgot how much they talk, and talk, and talk, and talk.

Thank you all so much for reading this ditty.

ROFL @ talk talk talk talk... I was trying to talk to my sister on the phone last night... but all communication was being dominated by my 3 year old nephew. *G* Nothing shy there! LOL

This is a wonderful tribute to your granddaughters, Mysteria... a great addition to the book of love you're writing for them. *S*

Ahhhhh ... Sharon!  Look at the treasure I found!  I'm so far behind in my reading, but I'm so glad I didn't miss this!

Such beautiful darlings they are ... and you captured this beautifully ... these pictures and these lovely words got me grinning from ear to ear all over again. You have the luckiest granddaughters!

Big hugs to you for being such a wonderful person!
/Kit

Ah you re all so understanding of my love for these girls and Tammy - love hard as they grow so fast.  Tori has an opinion now, and I am not sure I care for it, but it is all part of the process.  I liked it better when I was able to tell her what to do and not get that, "why, why, why" - you wait!  Why this, why that, I think I am going to get earplugs and just go ah hum 24/7   thank you all so much.
