light rock catagory.

Isolation Blue

In a distant world of darkness
far from the home town girl
in the midst of foreign oceans
there's a lonely soldier's world
where the pen of love stops talking
when a promise turns untrue
and far away there's isolation blue

Chorus:
Memoirs of pages filled with passion
tear stained letters in pockets full of truth
dreams inked on promise after action
a river of words in isolation blue

There's night skies lacking moonlight
when a lover loses face
and a soldier can get buried
in the dirt inside his veins
and the chapters of defeat
are written with ancient rules
and far away there's isolation blue.

There's a lover's fire an old desire
a distant fading flame
where wayward winds keep blowing
cross an icy memory lane
and the brightest leaves of Autumn
become colors of the truth
and far away there's isolation blue.

Memoirs of pages filled with passion
tear stained letters in pockets full of truth
dreams inked on promise after action
a river of words in isolation blue.

The role of poetry is to utter the un-utterable; to open up
spaces of consciousness and resistance; to language oppressions; to
re-language historie

You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Eric, thank you for sharing!

I have a strong background in the music business as a "wife" email coming to you for a laugh.  I have to tell you this is an incredible song, and I know a good one when I hear it trust me on this one.  As a poem, the words stuck me hard, and the ones that stabbed the most were these...

and a soldier can get buried
in the dirt inside his veins

I heard that from someone once that they felt that sand and dirt now ran through them instead of blood, so I am sending him your song.

Also, I am sending it out to everyone here that is on my mailing list out of sheer pride that we have in Passions someone as talented as yourself.  Thank you for sharing this with us.

The most valuable thing you own is a smile, wear it, and share it.

Oh WOW oh WOW oh WOW ...

Eric .... I loved this!

I loved the guitar,
I loved the beat,
I loved the melody,
I loved the words,
I loved the voice ...

OK ... so have I said I loved this???!!!

This is just wonderful, and I am sooooooo glad you posted the MP3 file so we could have a listen. It's one thing to read your work, and make up a melody in my head, as I often seem to do, lol ... but this just blew me away to be able to hear you for real.

Very, very well done. Easy listening ... oh, I just loved it (did I say that already? lol)

Best wishes and big hugs,
/Kit

You have much talent.

I love it, Eric! But I do have one small suggestion. When listening to the phrase:
"Memoirs of pages filled with passion"
I found it a bit awkward, and in my mind, I felt it would sound better as 'memory pages' or 'remembered pages.' But perhaps that's just me. Overall, I think it is outstanding, and will send the link to a friend.

THIS IS SOOOOO COOL!!!!
I am soooo proud of you and so happy for you...and how very cool this must be for you...I hope YOU are proud of you...what a great feeling this must be to hear your lyrics turned into such a lovely, bittersweet bluesy tune....
Few ever get to make it this far...
So tell us more about this...like when can we buy it

Look out Van...E-babes is on the loose

If all the tear drops went to heaven
And if all the pain was confined ...
Would I be your salvation
could I make your spirit shine.

You've got a world of talent, Eric. These are some of the finest lyrics I've seen in any song...you deserve a great deal of praise for this one. You certainly have mine. Hats off to you, sir
