Found

I find my joy
in hearing you laugh,
seeing you smile,
looking into your eyes,
and having you near.

I find comfort
in your touch....
the security I've never
felt with anyone before,
A loving warmth.

I keep you in my heart,
when you are far away,
and although I wish
you could stay,
I can let you go.

I thank God for you.
For in being who you are,
Your kindness and honesty,
have openned up my heart.
I welcome you inside.

Nothing can change
The way I feel for you.
I've so long searched
for someone special.
In you I've found so much.

Over time and distance we grow,
closer to each other.
And I feel with all my heart,
that God is who
Brought us together.

Sherry Gardner

Written in mid summer of 1985 for my husband (most of you already know the story).

Cherish the good memories past and look forward to the adventure called Tomorrow.
But above all... be kind to yourself today.

Lovely
in a word
to describe this poem, and the wonderment of the love Wilf and you share. I haven't seen this one before, and it shows a maturity you didn't know you had at that age.  What was it you two had to learn before you could have been together permanently?  Heaven only knows, but, yes, God ONLY could have managed to get you guys together again.
