Thank you everyone for your concern
I guess you just have to live and learn.
No more posting poetry on the net
when the world outside is stormy and wet.
I've cleaned up my old worn down pc
did some fixing of the registry,
the ethernet card was fried as well
seems that surge was hot as hell.
So now it's a new computer I need
ah, people pc to the rescue indeed.
Will take three weeks to arrive
I just hope by then I'm still alive.
Until that time it's just touch and go
getting mom off the computer you know,
she's cooking today for Dad's in town
so I get to post till she sits down.
But my dear friends I'm reading everyday
all the poems you're posting by the way.
They all are great, yes down right grand
I give you all a great big hand.
Poets all, talented beyond measure
for me, this place, a poetic treasure.

Anne, I hope you get your problem worked out soon, sooner than a few weeks. Will miss you till then, but at least you'll be popping in and out. Big hugs, much love, and many prayers. Dixie

Hey, Anne!  I am sitting on about 8 computers, all worn to the bone, here, but youse is always free to borry any of dem.  ~laughing~

Terribly amused by your poem, and trying not to laugh at someone's bad luck.  I still liked the topical poem, tho...lots!  Man, can i relate!

What a bummer, Anne....
Please come back and post some poetry every once in a while...even before you get your new PC...
Do you have a public library?  Sometimes you can use their computers...
or maybe Kinkos, but that will usually cost you some...
I guess you'll have to find some other distractions for your mother...
Maybe she needs to do some shopping?

I like the way you keep your sense of humor in a PC crisis.

I came so close to being in the same boat (and it still leaks, remember? LOL)... I was on the way up the stairs to play on the computer last week when maintenance decided to figure out why my kitchen appliances weren't working... and destroyed the breaker that carried just about everything else. *S* And computers aren't as forgiving of power surges as most appliances... no matter how much protection you try to give them!

I love the poem, Rosie... and hope you're back online and up to speed again soon. *S*
