Hidden in the shadows,
A stalker of the night,
Feeding on the fear
of the people in fright.

She's never done anything,
She has no debt to pay,
She just should not have walked,
have walked that way today.

Watching from the darkness,
Hiding from the light,
Raising his hand again an' again
high on his own might.

She is resting now,
She sleeps the final sleep,
Her family to never know,
only wonder, and weep.

Well written of the tragedy that is played out all too often.

I do think the line where you repeat "have walked that way" would be stronger with something other than repitition in that particular spot, but you're the author.

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

Not all of the shadow people are like that,
I spend much time in the shadows
And write about it a good bit also.

So let me offer a mild rebuttal

Lurking in Shadows: Mondo Style Poem

Why do you stand there,
Lurking in shadows of night
Hiding from persons in day?
There is no hope here
Nothing to bring out the light
No one to share on my way.
