(I have always loved bluebirds and all other beauties of nature so so much, they are soooooo adorable! Yay! )

Bluebirds
By: Noah Eaton
8/18/02

Bluebirds twittering in the summer breeze
Little girls in glass slippers skip-di-lou wherever they please
Buzzing like the bumblebees
Innocence shining even through the cold of night
In every childs eyes

Bluebirds flocking on the split-rail fence
Raccoons eavesdropping through the camping tents
Beneath where little chicks hatch in their warm snug nests
Laughter echoing even through a January sunlight
In every childs eyes

Bluebirds warbling "She Wore A Yellow Ribbon"
With beady puppy eyes of joy strewn with porcelain
Every little boy's friend and the grace of every woman
Where even the partridge family is invited in Nature's limousine
And swim in lakes of dusty opal as Mother does her late spring cleaning

Sister Cardinal and her family comes to visit
With Brer Fox and Rabbit and Aunt Egret
Among fawn-mingled clover fields lined with cinnamon
Where a father and daughter go fishing
The girl hugging her daddy under a dragonfly ceremony

Bluebirds singing on my shoulder
Ushering me in the beauty of the summer
Where wild ponies gallop with manes glowing ever golder
Playing duck, duck goose with the hummingbirds
The tortoise jumping "Yay!" beating the hare on the speedway of Mother Nature

Bluebirds twittering in the summer breeze
Little girls in glass slippers skip-di-lou wherever they please
Buzzing like the bumblebees
Innocence shining even through the cold of night
In every childs eyes
This was all you needed
To make this day fill you with delight...

"Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..."

Oh Noah this is so beautiful!
We don't have this kind of bluebird here..
We have the blue jays...but these are very special.
I hope to see a real one, one day.

lovely lovely photos

sweet sweet words with playful childhood memories woven in

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

Awwww Noah, this is so sweet. I love birds and as my sister Enchantress said, we don't have blue birds of this type here in Southern Ontario. At least....I haven't seen any. But still, watching them splash in the birdbath, or teaching their young to take flight...wonderful! Enjoyed. Chris

Noah, this is outstanding and I adore the pictures of the blue birds. Living so close to the city, we don't get a huge variety of birds, most sparrows and crows and the ocassional cardinal. It was joyous to read about them and see their pictures.

Thank you ... Hugs, Marti

Fit for the season, Noah.  Got a couple bird feeders in my yard, now if I could just keep the squirrels out of them!

Oh, Man, Noah!  The gem-blue perfect hue of the Bluebirds came through so well in these digi-pics!   Love the playfulness of the poem here.  Impossible, isn't it, to take a walk in the Spring, see these azure beauties and not feel inspired to write about them.

BlueBirds
Once, when man was just a dream
in God's eye
He remorsed, for in his palette
He was missing a color for happy
so he released the BlueBird into
the white canvas sky

and swirled they did!
Painting clouds with bluetail brushes
and finally
when man woke from his first sleep
he looked up into the joy skies of heaven
while a BlueBird painted his soul
with joy

This is amazing and I have never seen one Noah.  I loved the pics and your story woven throughout.  I think this is my all time favorite of yours but then I am a sucker for birds too

The most valuable thing you own is a smile, wear it, and share it.
