The Coming of Fall

It was early in the morning
the birds were not yet singing
The road was red and golden from the
  the leaves that fell

I wrapped by jacket round me
as I walked along the gravel
far beyond the subways
   close to natures call

Every breath that I was taking
  Every sound that had bearing
was just a whisper from the wind
  calling for the fall

The clouds they looked like cotton
  high above the wild
as I became quite conscious
of how I was so small

And so the day moved forward
  and in time I traveled
knowing with each leaf that fell
  My time could be called

I wandered for awhile
  stopping very often
just to take another breath
  in wonder of it all..

So glad each of you enjoyed it. I had fun writing it, had it not been for Greeneyes I wouldn't have??

Thanks for the inspiration.
