A Sigh In Hold

Before I knew better
I was dreaming my way
into your arms,
folding into your touches,
leaving behind
the shadows, blanketed
by the indigo night.

I opened  my thoughts
mind-skipping along Dorothy's path.
Saturated, thirst quenched
by your nearness
and the kisses laid softly upon,
the departing distance seemed shorter.

Oldies penetrated the scheme of things.
Love tunes turned sour, became sweetened
with each mile, each sing-a-long,
as I glanced to the left
keeping sight of the moon
in its glory of blue.

On this night
you burdened my thought with want,
time with you renewed feelings
once rejected.
Struggling to this point, I eased
into my longings, there
loving watching you watching me,
a sigh in hold.

With each look, I began
to package you, wrap you
as my take-a-long, memories
to feed me on my journey home.
With you-thoughts, the past
is always my present, the present
always to become my past,
a never ending circle.

I imagine reality with you
not knowing the feel, awakening
with you by my side,
watching the rise and fall
of each breath, a rhythm
all your own.

I  cover your landscape
with my eyes, enjoying
the filling of my emptiness,
the peacefulness,
as I drift with you
in anywhere-thoughts,
all those places yet to be.

I stretch to reach you,
to attain the height of happiness,
a kiss of tomorrows,
my inspiration of today.

I love all of this, but the line "folding into your touches" and the 5th stanzas are my favorites!

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

Maureen darling heart, this has to be one of your utter utter best, when the flow is as smooth as water over glass, when the phrasing is as delicately meshed into the whole as to make the mind sigh, when the touch of the words falls in a soul with a velvet touch, then I know I’ve read something special. This fulfils the promise of beauty that is offered by your name, when I see your name I know its quality. THIS Is simply superb writing, and I love it utterly utterly utterly

Love and warm stuff
As always
Mushy

Breathe through the heat of our desire
Thy coolness and they balm
Let sense be dumb let flesh retire
Speak through the earthquake wind and fire

Well done Maureen!
You might be mind skipping along Dorothy's path but you'll never be taking the journey to get a heart because you've already got a big one!
Love how you end this in peaceful reflect....yearning but still warm from the memories.
Can ya tell I liked it?
