Will she be followed down a spiral avenue
wonder in quest of a deceased Spanish venue
lure investigators to a twisted tower tale
fueled by incantations of a coastal nightingale?

the spiral of the corsage clasped in hand
French roll of hair secured by a band,
Carlata bore a child; was then thrown to the streets
her spirit wandered then, in search of fresh treats

She knew about her lover's wife, and the tower plans
she drove to her portrait museum, corsage clasped in hands,
then contemplated her Spanish spiraled past
and her life with the lover was not to last

Acrophobic fear coloured an investigated chase
private eyes drew her image from a portrait base
accompanied by swirl motifs, he followed her change
assumed a new identity, withdrew from lover's range

destiny caught up when dirty deeds vortexed
she died of fright twisted in her dark cortex;
a cemetary plot would beckon, to haunt more than one
she had to come out of her assumed identity she'd spun.

if you enter the museum where Carlata is shown
observe the observer whose expression has grown;
is it contemplation of a tortuous past
whose passion will she lure, from her tormented caste?

Bravo!  Having watched this particular movie several times, you caught the essence of it very well, indeed.  She was a beauty, and he the curious voyeur...it would be interesting to hear what particular music you would have put this to, as I listen to a Windham Mill collection of Songs without Words...it all seem to fit, seamlessly...

Enjoy reading you always, Ecrivan...thank you!

Thanks Karilea,

I noticed thought that the music here was similar to what I heard in Rear View Window, again with James Stewart..

Noah,

I am confused at how the investigator could have gotten so caught up in this..and the similarity between mistress and wife

Keth and Lyra

there are lots of poetic images to harvest from these suspense films, the slices of life
you can get is what's intriguing and appealing
