Sweet Wicker Wind
~*Marge Tindal*~

Sweet wicker winds entwine me
Ribboning thoughts now find me
Lattice weave on unfurling breeze
of memories that bind me~

Curlicue in soft surround
Stitch of quilting's gentle sound
All I am in fashion's preen
poetic threads of wordy-sheen~

Ric-rac ravels of regret
for thoughts that I have not penned yet
Sweet wicker wind blow me long
so that tomorrow
my gentle song
will play again
in longing heart
before it's time
for me to part~

Delicate lacing from before
when all the dreams mattered more
Coming to rest in feathered nest
blown by sweet wickered wind~

~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~

Marge, this is just lovely. It was a joy to read, and I am going back to read it again! Chris

Let me guess...sitting in a wicker chair on a breezeway or patio in the sunshine state...

classic Marge poetic phrasing and word play...love the way you took the inspire and theme and carried it out all the way thru your rhymes ...even laced in some groovy alliterations ...
lovely write here... a treat to read aloud.

If all the tear drops went to heaven
And if all the pain was confined ...
Would I be your salvation
could I make your spirit shine.

Very, very nice. In fact, the whole verse is
enjoyable. Liked it very much. You have a great way with meter.

Marge....kinda like the breezes that flow
through our minds each day....bringing out
the thoughts that paint our page....till
the next breeze flows over us again,  and
again....

Lovely words....thank you...

I love the title Marge and I know where you're coming from....I think you know how I feel about all that....This is so pretty and invokes reflection.
"Ric-rac ravels of regret

I think we all regret that....I know you'll get them out where we all can enjoy those thoughts.

Marge... A lovely poem.
Through trees of wicker the wind does blow
From your pin a beautiful poem does flow
Life plays a gentle song from long ago... Paul

You always just 'know' ... my response BEFORE I read your reply was to attempt to explain to others how the simple pleasure of sitting outside with the gentle winds puffing through the wicker gave me little smiling thoughts~
And then glancing at the overhang on the patio I saw my Ric-Rac cactus tipping her thoughts my way ... it just continued to write itself~
Thank you lady~

Marge this is wonderful. There are words in this poem that remind me so much of my mother and grandmother. They used to sew everything, clothes, drapes, you name it and they had the machine humming.

Marge-
I absolutely LOVE this!  It is definitely
one of my favorites of yours.  I just love
the feeling it leaves me with.
Ya know...I REALLY must come read and reply
more often...ya think?
This one just reminded me of just how much
I've been missing by not being around much.
Thanks for being YOU, my friend, and for
not giving up on me.
Love you,
~Vicky

it is comforting
is it not
to just allow the mind to play
and be carried at wind's whim?

your style of writing
is bound in silk strings.
