Writer's Block

A tear fell on the paper
It smeared the ink that had not yet
  time to dry
This paper with the words I wanted to send
but, did not have the courage to finish

This paper
that held all the secrets
  I was willing to share
A piece of paper made from a tree
that was probably a hundred years old
chopped down by a human termite

Now it lays before me ready to recieve my ink
Ready for me to claim my place
on the surface of what was once a living
and breathing thing
And I am stymied by words that can no longer
live up to being worthy enough
to place upon this crown.

I wipe the page dry
and let the ink penetrate while I take time
  to contemplate
before I lay my pen upon such aged grace

There's a new way to think of writer's block!

God bless America, my home sweet home.

May love and light always shine upon you!

Yes,  so humbling is the experience of
knowing that a significant piece of nature
provides that piece of poetry's puzzle...

And I thought you had writer's block....
Me thinks not!

TGFC [thank goodness for computers]

I have several blank journals...

for some reason, I feel my words linked together
are never quite good enough to go in them...

so I appreciate the write of this...

Sunshine, for all of our sakes please write in those journals. Do not let that paper go to waste. You must do it justice for us. Nothing can ever replace a book in hand, a piece of paper to the poet is sacred. A journal a treasure. Your journal will be of great value to all who have the good fortune to read it.

Electra...
This poem is so very creative...
I think you are a very talented chip off the old writer's block.

Paper...yes, it is to be treasured, and the words that we write on it not to be taken lightly...loved the thought that went into this.
