How Best to Choose Your Dilemma
quote:

“My paramount object in this struggle is to save the Union, and is not either to
save or to destroy slavery. If I could save the Union without freeing any slave,
I would do it; and if I could save it by freeing all slaves, I would do it; and if I
could do it by freeing some and leaving others alone; I would also do that.”
Abraham Lincoln, letter to Horace Greeley, 22 August 1862

I am here by whim or fate
By the door or by the gate
My life is in His eyes, you see,
My strife is only caused by thee.

To make my way, step by step
Matters not if free or kept
My life is in His eyes, you see,
My strife is only caused by thee.

Was I asked to step in chain
What has caused this sad refrain?
In my land I braced the wind,
In my hand I held my kin.

By man’s greed and awesome power
Lost I centuries by the hour
Yet still the dilemma is blamed on me
All I asked was let me be.

My blood was shed before the war
Now others blood is shed by score
Now man’s greed and awesome power
Bleeds the country its darkest hour.

Now one man would cast my fate
By the door or by the gate
My life is in His eyes, you see
My strife is only caused by thee.

In the blackest light of white
A man’s dilemma caused this fright
But, my life is in His eyes, you see
My strife was only caused by thee.

Sun,  you are rolling right along across the
sky,  shining brightly on us with your wisdom
and poetic words that speak such strength in
messages of now,  of then and of what we
have yet to see....

(tears fall down my cheeks) Oh Karilea, this poem touched my heart so very deeply because I believe Abraham Lincoln was the best president our nation ever had in my heart and I know how hard of a decision it was and how controversial it must had been for him to make the Emancipation Proclamation yet I believe he believed in Him and did it for Him and for all the people who trusted Him and cried for freedom! It was because of Abraham and his faith that all the slaves from Tenneessee, Georgia, and all the Union were freed, for He was his motivator! (BIG HUGGGSSSSSSS) God Bless You, sweet friend, I think this is one of your most powerful poems to date and I'm adding this to my library as I believe this could teach so many, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Karilea, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

In the spirit of going back inside the minds of great men:  who better than to write the anguished success of Mr. Lincoln in his moment of torment between the fractured minds of his fellow man.  You have a special gift, Karilea,
to articulate an inner goal-voice within others.  Your golden heart seals a good fate.

Does this qualify?? Does it ever, power words Karliea, and challenge well answered.

The sum of the angles of that rectangle is too monstrous to contemplate!

I've been reading the Journals of Corrie Belle Hollister by Michael R. Phillips. This is such a timely piece for me to read.

Well done, well done!

At first read of the title, I couldn't help but recall the words of advice given parents of teens and pre-teens..."Pick your battles."

Pick your solutions would fit with Lincoln's quote as well.

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

An awesome write, Karilea...
What an uncanny ability you have, to speak through the mind of that slave.
This is really unbelievable!
