Man and Woman

A man became the world within her pure ingenuous eyes
He lit the brightness of her smile, the black of midnight skies
New purpose given to each task, new joy in every laugh
New meaning to intention and direction of her path

A woman came into his world and turned his life around
The lightness of his footstep now was solid on the ground
New dreams into the future lay, new visions to the mind
The honor of his manhood leaving shallow dreams behind

A man has left his father and a father now become
A child upon the stairway is the brightness of his sun
A woman left her mother and in glory given birth
Fulfilling her exquisite role of greatest human worth

The past has been regenerated into present hours
The gifts of life are visible in heart’s most cherished flowers
The future’s being lived within the scent of a bouquet
That will appear in springtime’s breeze, and fill a heart some day

If anyone ever had a family to inspire beautiful poetry it is you for sure, and this one is absolutely beautiful Liz, just like those that inspire it.
