Sleepy River in sleepy hollow Where dwells the lark and song of swallow By the river deer, stag and fawn Call me from awakening dawn See the river travel slowly Makes my heart seek calm and lowly Ripples glisten in the sun Oh! Travel on unruffled one Lazy River winding, pouting Speaks in whispers never shouting Burbles over stones in streams Soft of hope and song of dreams Soft the river dances lightly Over obstacles more sprightly Down to find the rushing sea Merging all to blend with me River sighing near the banking Sweet scents the air of life fast flanking River flows onto the sea Leaving calm and peace for free Flow the river sweet in bending As I find my way in wending To the river slow and calm There refreshed I'm safe from harm Cool the river in its tripping The joy of life in sun I'm sipping Hear the river burble on Giving back the gift of song Leave the river to the township Lo the people move to fast trip Yet the river flows within Calms my all, to dwell therein Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind. Keth darling sister of my soul and holder of the sky’s lights yet again this is so beautifully written I swear I can hear the tinkling water, I certainly can feel the coolness flowing through my mind. Truly exquisite writing, every single time you write, I hear the words ripple though my soul, how well you know me beloved heart, your internal beat echoes my pulse beat, your line length is perfect and your meter simply wonderful I love it love it love it utterly utterly utterly. All of our rivers, lakes and streams Harbor mosquitoes... or so it seems. *G* To find this kind of tranquility I skip the fresh water and go to the sea. Sorry, Keth... my fingers got carried away. *S* So did my mind... and I much enjoyed the journey. Fom sleepy peace to delightful burbles your river provides wonderful respite... great write! *S* |
