Aerials
By: Noah Eaton
8/15/02

Hanging...

Hanging...

From the ceiling of your Savoy ballroom
You're wielding a Purple Heart
Above a menagerie of voiceless crowds

Propelling...

Propelling...

Where the sky has no gravity
Gyrating along all the ropes of constellations
So smooth and undefined

You're

d
  a
   n
    g
     l
      i
      n
           g

then

                g
              n
            i
          d
        n
      e
    c
  s
a

again...
Free-falling from a

   t
      r
a
    p
        e
            z
       e

to the audience below...

Come on now
Let's find grace in gravity
You're a Lindy Hopper beneath your flesh
Come on now
Hang with me
We'll make waves and ankle hangs...

Hang your knees
From your ankle bar from your precipice
No need to feel hysterical or melodramatic
Confidence comes from precision
Let this be your Cirque du Soleil

You're Zen and the art of everything
It's all cradling you in high-wire
Work your spirits in tandem
Juggle them
You're in synch

Before you know it you're

                    t
                       w
                         i
                       s
                     t
                       i
                          n
                         g

and...
                             t
                               u
                              r
                             n
                           i
                          n
                             g

And from your cenacle you see the stars fall
And become part of your melting pot...

Come on now
Let's find grace in gravity
You're a Lindy Hopper beneath your flesh
Come on now
Hang with me
We'll make waves and ankle hangs...

I'll be your team-mate
Lean forward and arch your back
Swing through the lyras
Tumble off the top into my lap
I'll be your team-mate
Flip backward from your corde lisse

I'll
      be
          there
                 to
                    catch
                          you...

As time freezes still...

Come on now
Let's find grace in gravity
You're a Lindy Hopper beneath your flesh
Come on now
Hang with me
We'll make waves and ankle hangs...

Let your body

                    rise...

softly...

to the limelight...

"Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..."

Shakira

Noah,  this is a very neatly configured
poem,  certainly took some effort to make
it flow and dangle as you have done here.

a freefall tumble
into lover's grace
there, unto the daring
shall be caught in loving arms
for no danger shall befall
those who fall
carefully
into Love

Noah, how do you do it? You write so much, so well and you're so young. And then you have all the patience it takes to put something like this on the board for us all to marvel at! You're something!

btw, I'm going to be gone for a few hours so won't be butting in as much for awhile.

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

Oh Noah ~~ this is truly amazing and there were times I really could feel the fall. Very creative and wonderful words.

Gravity grace I like that....I also like the presentation....real way too cool!

BRAVO! you've outdone yourself with this one, Noah. It is way too cool for us groundhuggers!
You had me dangling and spinning in midair with this one. (Does that make me a spider?)

Hey look at you!  You know I love bells and whistles and this was just full of them.  Oh Noah I loved this one, and off into safe-keeping it has gone.  How clever you are.

The most valuable thing you own is a smile, wear it, and share it.
