Between midnight thoughts

0 posted 2002-08-15 08:34 PM

The night has now turned over,
My weary eyes though burning defeat,
Their purpose, for though tired,
In this twilight I find no sleep.
My eyes peel the skyline,
Darting to and fro,
Undressing the darkness in my mind,
Searching for a hint of tomorrow.
A very daunting task,
I eagerly await the dawn,
When the sky removes its mask,
For a new day to be born.
For the moon serves as a mirror,
It reflects thoughts of my heart,
So I stare your face for hours,
As the moon boldly glares me back.
Like the drops of dew to the grass,
Countless sentiments adorn my heart,
Shimmering in this suspended paradise,
Gems of thought that bring you back.
Alas, they will have to suffice,
In this hiatus of my life,
As my heart paces for sunrise,
Beating your name as I close my eyes.
