Many faces he does wear
cloaked in cloth of deceit
but to serve what purpose?
When caught he quickly retreats.

Hidden within many colors
shaded in sharing of dreams
while whittling away in thought
of how to activate his next scheme.

He preys upon the meek
endeaering self to broken hearts
offering an ear of listen
a way to make his start.

Showing a different face daily
hidden among many names
each one held in secret
while playing obscure head games.

The cloth, it can wear thin
til' suddenly truth comes into view
until he, of many faces
no longer knows who is who......

somebody tell me, please help me....
understand.......(as sung by Trace Adkins)

Wow powerful stuff here G.S.
Sounds like something that went sour like all of us can relate to.

(sigh) Oh Donna, this is wonderful, sweet friend, this is sad but so wonderfully detailed, lies can indeed even our own eyes and have us wondering if those we know are really the same! (kiss on cheek) Very well-said, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Donna, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Donna, this sounds like the priests in Boston who have been abusing children. Hiding their many faces and hiding behind 'the cloth.'

Excellent write ... Hugs, Marti

Deceit,  Deception.....Lies.... all so
harmful to anyone...a very hurting feeling
when one learns that is all they were wanted
for.....for someone else to get some
personal gratification....  Sad, very sad.....  Thanx for this Donna...

Thank you all for the replies.  Magnus, I think you just summed it up perfectly.  Deceit and lies are not the way to become my best friend fast that is for sure.  So many get hurt through unkind acts as that.
My thanks again to all.

Intensely felt piece dear lady~
You can bet that most of us have felt the sting of the insincere little nit-nougars out there~

So sadly close to home for me.  For my best friend, whom we took into our family, and she called me her sister. Yea. Right.  Until my money gave out, due to unforeseen circumstances....THEN to realize she was never ever even a friend, must less as close as a sister.  It hurt.  Badly.  For, I loved her like the sister, whom had died at birth...the one I never got to know.
Your poem is so true:  As they say beware of wolves in sheep's clothing.
Take care,
Coway
