(This is for my sweet Joanna, who I love everyday from the bottom of my heart so deeply! )

Soul Muse
By: Noah Eaton
8/12/02

October days I used to sit on the porch
Counting ravens but continuously mistaking them for crows
I thought love was something that just wasn't meant for me
All my instincts tossed around like broken bows
Now I can't explain why but I know everythings changed
Caught a second wind and I can hold that savoir-faire
I feel Saturday Night fever even on a Wednesday
When I smell the apples and sunflowers in your hair

All for one and one for all some may say
It takes some time to realize now I know I can agree
I swear love has its own unorthodox syntax
I mistake reality with fantasy so very easily
In your loving arms I feel the sun
But I never get burned and I don't go blind
I feel weak yet I feel strong feeling your love
Tasting your bubblegum tongue is a feeling so divine

Like a satyr your wings wear the eyes of my soul
Kissing the lightbulb of my heart
And you're always attracted to me

We're two hearts, two souls

                  With one destiny

                              One dream...

      Two hearts, two souls

                  With one destiny

                              One love...

      For both you and me...

Soul Muse, suckle your wine with me...

Bells fill the air all around me
When you toss your hair and reflect your sunrise smile
You're like a dayflower that never wilts
A davit that holds my ship safely to the shore
Come here sweetie, I'll show you the seven seas
Like the peregrine falcon we will soar
Your love defies all perfection of feng shui
Princess, from your balcony jump and fall into me
We'll make potpourri of Arsenic and Old Lace
Wear this technicolor dreamcoat and taste lifes giant peach

Like a peacock your many eyes hypnotize
Glowing with a ruby mercy to an amethyst prowess
And when you kiss my lips so softly
And wrap your arms around me
I hear your soul say "Noah, you're my sweet bay-bee!"
And I say "Joanna, I'll always love you and show you everything!"

We're two hearts, two souls

                  With one destiny

                                One dream...

      Two hearts, two souls

                  With one destiny

                                One love...

      Two hearts, one symphony

      Two hearts, one epiphany

      Two hearts, one creed

      Two hearts, one everything

                   For both you and me...

      You are my Madonna

                       My Dionysus

                                My Alpha and Omega

My heart, my soul, my zen and body

Soul Muse, suckle your wine with me...

      Soul Muse, embrace me lovingly...

"Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..."

Shakira

Noah, you wise spirit you:
15,000 posts is inspiring to us.  I know, we all leave a small piece of us behind with each reply that describes the way a poem affects us.  For you to give that much of ourselves....sigh
The Paradise that grows inside of you
is a delight for others to walk in, Noah.

This is an outstanding poem Noah. Most fitting for your 15,000th post. It is a lovely work of art filled with your spirit and your love. You have touched my life in just the short time I have been here and I feel enriched for having known you and am more so each time I read your verse.

In truth, what defines us is our poetry.

I'm new to PIP, and reading your poem, I think I'll fit in here! i love your sense of humor, and you have some amazing lines... I had a few favorites:
In your loving arms I feel the sun
But I never get burned and I don't go blind
I feel weak yet I feel strong feeling your love
Tasting your bubblegum tongue is a feeling so divine

that is so great... congrats on all your posts, and a seemingly great relationship.
looking forward to reading more of yours,
Jessica

Noah, this is outstanding! You write some of the best romantic poetry.

I love this line:

"' I swear love has its own unorthodox syntax
I mistake reality with fantasy so very easily"

Please keep making those "mistakes," for the rest of us to enjoy.

I can hardly believe you've made 15,000, but then, considering how faithful you are to responding to the poetry of others, it really should come as no surprise!

Congrats on your accomplishments!
