It’s quiet right now,

Thoughts are drifting westerly
where my feet once strolled
sandy shores
wondering if I would one day
be met by one
like the surf welcomes the beach

Bubbling in snowy excitement,
later, slowly lapping at ankles
and sometimes
pounding hard in say of mine

It’s quiet right now
my fingers caressing the curl
of waves in shudder

Emotions floating under
taste of salt

It’s quiet right now…

I wonder if he thinks easterly…

I pass this way but once, here's hoping I meet you.   Sharon

ah - now this is nice... (with one minor gripe - "snowy" just doesn't seem to fit) the feel, the hesitance, the... poem. it made me recall a time when i once listened, and actually, yes, heard.

the ebb and flow of the mood of this certainly fits the caressing and ebbing of the tide as one walks at water's edge

I'm sitting here, barefoot, imagining the lapping of the salty froth, right now. Oooh, thanks for the memory ripening!

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

I have a love that lives in MS, I am in FL, so I think westerly a lot, and wonder if he thinks easterly...very touching poem, touched me tenderly.

Oh this is lovely, Soleil...
It reminds me of when David and I were first dating.  He lived in Indiana then...and I did a lot of westerly thinking... and, he did a lot of easterly thinking and traveling.
He also did some northerly thinking...
Indiana is south of Michigan too!
Thanks for sharing this with us.

As I was reading this wonderful piece of writing, strong easterly winds burst through my window and swept across my office and out the other window----I have the feeling that they are on their way to you! tehe

Very haunting and beautiful, needs to come back to the top. I think of someone special that I once knew to the west...I wonder if she thinks of me at all, and if she bears me any ill will. sigh. I miss her, especially the coffee breaks.

Sometimes a simple thought
transfers its way past the heart
and winds around a staff of poem...

this, was that...

and I thank you all so very much for reading.
