Powder Burns

I fall upon my limp ad-lib
To help me write this poems glib
But find I climb a greasy pole
That rises out an endless hole.

Words should build upon themselves
Like fantasy and fairy elves
Should cover all extremities
With out a prayer upon your knees.

Build a place of solid core
That occupies an upper store
To fill the mind with thoughts of rhyme
That lends surcease to passing time.

But I am often tied a block
And sink through water like a rock.
Serendipity sits my face
And Puck is doubled in grimace

I find myself nonplus in air
And often thoughtless in a stare
While up ahead I see a bend
Yet I will run until the end.

And I will write no matter what
And on my tombstone leave a dot.

Just don't cross the T on the tombstone,
yet, Sy, for we've many miles to trod
and many poems to prod

Good morning to you!

In the catch of your stare
there is more than just despair
for truth and whimsy wander by

this was such a delightful read...the images were superb and smile producing

a greasy pole in an endless hole...LOL priceless!

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

p.s. It makes me think of what my mother wrote in my autograph book when I was in the 4th grade:

My love for you is in the shape of a lizard,
it runs down my heart and tickles my gizzard.

If I had a gizzard, you'd have tickled it.

Seymour darling heart and painter with the moons light, you write in such a way that your truth shines the wisdom and the grace with which you fill your poems is breathtaking. You take the truth mould it into a concept, a well thought out idea and presents it as the answer to which souls seek. That you could do this once would be wonderful that you continue to shine a light into the murky depths of a heart is nothing short of a miracle. Because of you there are souls that had lived in darkness and now see light, because of your words, confused and sorrowing souls will now understand that in giving they are saved. Is it any wonder that I proclaim your writing special? Is it a surprise that I say you are truly a WRITER? No it is not darling heart, because you are and I simply reflect the opinion of the masses. If I am biased, and I know I am, I probably am harder on your writing than any other. I know it’s going to be good, I expect it will knock me out, so when it consistently shines clear and bright I give praise where it is due. This is superb writing, the flow the structure are all exquisite, and as for the content darling heart it is simply perfect. Do I LOVE it, I think the answer would have to be yes. I LOVE IT UTTERLT UTTERLY UTTERLY.

And I will write no matter what
=================================

You will already know why that line is the only line in this poem that my mothy eyes read...and is the reason I am smiling as I type this.  Its gonna take a lot more than writers block to keep you and Randy from penning poetic perfection...

OH and....about those "limp ad-libs"

Not a chance...
Randy wouldnt hear of it. LOL

*yawn* you write in the morning?  My day starts a tad later than most I guess.  Well there will be no perfection of punctuation from you yet Mr. Tabin you hear.  This was yet another of your jewels a plenty and oh how I loved and know these lines well...

find myself nonplus in air
And often thoughtless in a stare

(smooches to you) and a hug to Isabel too!

I pass this way but once, here's hoping I meet you.   Sharon
