Indignities

Age has lent a silent grace
That follows me from place to place
And softens all the footstep fall
That sharp of sound the world would call.

Insidious the lesser lee
And ignominious to me
For I have lost some hear of say
That now has flown beyond my way

Along with that I’ve lost some pace
Slower is my rate of chase
And slower is my turn of mind
And thinner is my shell of rind.

And though I amplify the found
It has a false and tinny sound
It does not have that youthful core
That filled my fancy full of awe.

So if I pay you lesser mind
Blame starvation of a kind.

I might be worried if I didnt know that you hear with your heart ...
just like you see with your soul...
and that mind of yours knows the passage to wisdom's door...your poetry is the key.

love ya Sy-babers

If all the tear drops went to heaven
And if all the pain was confined ...
Would I be your salvation
could I make your spirit shine.

Uh oh.....

I want a lover with an easy touch
I want somebody who will spend some time
Not come and go in a heated rush
I want somebody who will understand
When it comes to love, I want a slow hand"

You seem spry enough Sy. It beats the alternative. Enjoyed.

Serenity,
My love for you is the phantom of the opera or my fantasy. Would you unmask me before the world?

I should have asked YOU! Tell me, do you think it's dumb for a witch to dress as a catholic schoolgirl for halloween? (I think "turn-about" is fair play...)

and hey...yer a sweetie...I would love to see your artwork too! HINT

As I read this,
and the comments,
perhaps it is just the battery
that needs the charge...
for surely, your heart
is full of what you feel!

Hugging you!

Enjoyed this very much. Truth but with a soft edge. Made for a nice read.

Enchantress,
Top of the morning to you dear.

Serenity,
I think a witch does what ever she wants.
As for my art work, you must come up and see it some time....

Sunshine,
For you my heart is always charged.

WhiteRose,
Thank you sweet.

Whatever you may have lost, it's not in the talent department... your awesome poems are evidence of that. *S* And having met you, I can testify that... whatever the indignities... you're still rather magnificent. *S*

My usual reply is Huh?...or What?...or
I didn't understand what you said?....

Seems there is always something that just
doesn't seem to work like it used to work.

Huh,  what was that?

BTW...I know all about these things you
are writing of....and you have written
them well...

With my birthday around the corner this has had impact on me. I can't seem to remember what day my birthday is? Humm, I do however, recall that it is sometime in the fall...
Or maybe I had it already last year!

Nice read, thank you.

Gosh...A poem I needed this fine morning.  I just started a job, ah...oh, well.  I have not worked for three years, and due to circumstances had to get a job.  My body is not as spry,,,as my mind.  What I mean to say is you are as old as you feel...BUT they forget to tell you someone must tell the body that too. heheheee.
All  joking aside, when I get used to it will be great.  I am just using muscles I have not used in YEARS>instead of going back into commission sales am waitressing.  WOW...what a difference.   Yet, bad with the good....not near as much politics at work.
Take care,
I loved your poem.
