In early springtime they were green and lush,
Left to one color when the crocus died,
I seldom stopped to notice in my rush,
Now they’ve turned to brown as with drought they’ve dried.
The blue heavens make the white clouds drift by
Never stopping to give grasses a cry.

Gloom

the clouds know
better then us
life again
will cover
the dust
for if life
there ever was
it never
disappears
in that I
trust

very beautiful.....

but then again?
a summer's dew
can make it all
appear as new--

Mother knew--
in all her wise
to cover seed
in glisten's sigh...

Father knew
to plant life deep--
beneath a melting
snow in weep

both--together as above--
below? there lies the treasure trove.

Thank you, Zinsser,

where has gone the rain
that once fell on the plain
with dark blotches stain
the dust
the rain that falls not
the greening forgot
for moisture unbrought
is trust
that hot sun beaming
turns water streaming
and the grasses greening
it must.

Thank you, Serenity Blaze,
What summer dew,
Not enough to bring back the green,
A drop or two,
The thirsty blade do scream,
Give us rain, give us rain,

Gloom

Who knows when the rain will come?
And when it does, what the outcome?
Lovely write.

tears like rain
come and go
with no reasons
to explain
but both have
a healing
to sustain

Roll on

Unleashed by storm
in liquid form
the molecules descend

Whereby they fall
through dusty pall
to drought they may amend

Then join in flow
as rivers grow
and off to oceans wend

There rise once more
roll on in store
so clouds again will rend
