I have a question for you who believe in God

Where was he Sept 11th?

You say god is almighty, all knowing, and all loving

Tell that to the wives who lost their husbands
Tell that to the husbands who lost their wives
Tell that to the Children who lost their parents
Tell that to the world
Those who die everyday from famine, war, abuse, neglect,
AND
Other peoples anger.

I find it hard to believe that a GOD who people believe is almighty
Just stands by and watches as the WORLD dies
He stands by as children loose their parents and their lives
He stands by as women are rapped ands babys are aborted

Tell me is this the GOD of LOVE you talk about so freely?

It's obvious GOD doesn’t care who gets hurt
God's turned his back on the WORLD
AND
On those who call him Savior...

This may anger many of you...but its a fact...
Noone can give me a reasonable answer to my questions
"Where was god sept 11th"
"Where is god in this world"?

Where is God?
Where is your belief in God?
Perhaps you should go back and read the Book of Job.

For those that believe, the faith is never in doubt,
For those whom don’t believe, doubt is their faith.

What a great question. Where is God? Lets see, I went to my old high school looking, nope, he's not there, they took him out. Currently he's still in our Pledge, but we are trying to take him out of there too. Hey wait, I heard a rumor he might be in the hearts of those really care. No, he's not on the Anna Nicole Pig show, no, he's not there to stop someone dying from cancer, he's not there to stop someone from dying from old age. He's not going to play a character like superman, or some other fictional God but he is there for those who want him. He's there waiting for those that believe that were in those hijacked planes and died, He surely was there for that wife of the pilot of the one plane. She seemed to have accepted her husbands death very well. I think it's because she knows he's in a better place and she will be with him someday. But this is a very thought provoking write for those who don't know about God. He's the one that didn't promise us anything here on earth, only after these bodies of ours have perished does he promise us life. It's also very interesting how much patriotism came from this horrible day and I understand church attendance has almost doubled since 9/11? Maybe people are finding God now? Or has satan influenced so many that people are finally realizing that God really does exist and that satan really does exist and that it's nearing the time to choose? And no, I'm not some holy roller fanatic but I can show you examples that my father taught me that make me a believer. Yes, I think God's everywhere, even on the planes that hit the WTC.

(NOTE: sorry, my father made me delete the last few lines, as if it matters to anyone with faith)

you have asked the question of the ages with this poem.  if god is love then the only answers to your question which make sense logically and are not doctrinal or dogma are - there is no god or god is not all powerful at least in a coercive way.  At least for me this is the case - I have no time for a god who could have and didn't or one that has this in a plan that we just don'tunderstand.  You can findmany apologies on god and your question but they all have a dicontinuity in them - ie have faith - we just don't understand - it isn't for us to know etc.  Your poem asks an important question very well.  Ellie Wesel write about his experiences in the Nazi concetration camps and the hanging of little children.  A man in the camp asks while looking at the little children being hung - where is your god now - the answer give was there hanging up there.  Keep asking - Paul

Either you believe (with faith) or you don't.  If you believe, God is, or non-god is, and faith, of some sort, is the answer (to everything).  On the other hand, if you have no belief, there is no question, and so, no answer.

If you believe that God is some whiskered old man who sits on a golden throne, throwing out lightening bolts at evil beings, listening to Angels sing constantly (that would drive anyone nuts), and constantly being bombarded with peoples prayers, then yes, it's kinda hard to think that "God" could have let September 11th happen.

If you understand that God is in everything that God has created, because in order to create, God didn't have anything else to create anything with except Himself/Herself, then you can also follow that through to understanding that God is in every human being (and also their spirit) that was in those buildings, as well as the terrorists who aimed those planes at the WTC and Pentagon.

It's not that God doesn't care - not at all.  In fact, God cares so much that for us to grow in our spirituality, He/She has given us total free will.  It's up to us as to how to use it.  The people in the buildings, at the spiritual level, had total free will, and although the Ego part may not have been aware of what was to happen, the Spirit part, being also a part of God, and not so tightly bound to Earth, also knew what was to happen.  It's not a matter of God not caring, not at all.  God is, has been, and always will be, Omiscient, Omnipotent, and Omnipresent.

Borne of that Trinity, we are, and always have been, and always will be, the children of God, even those who don't believe, and moreover, even those who have been twisted into believing that their religion (and this doesn't just apply to the Al Qaida, but to many other's as well) is the only TRUE religion. We are part of God.  God is in us.  The mystery is that we fight so hard against our spiritual heritage.

akira, I believe Professor Gloom answered your question much more eloquently than I am able to.  "Faith" is what it is all about and yes, the book of Job will answer many questions for you as to why God allows such misery in this world.  September 11th is only a small part of what this world has had to endure.  Hitler disposed of eleven million people, six million of them being Jews.  Yes, it's hard to understand, but I'm not sure our tiny minds are capable of understanding the enormous plans of the Creator.  In faith, I know that He is in control and allows His plan to work itself out.  One day all will be revealed.  God bless you!

I have had a hard past, encluding a very horrid childhood.  Do I believe in God?  Yes, I do.  He gave people free-will...he does not cause bad to happen.
He is in people, in nature, everywhere men seek him.  As Proffesor Gloom worded it so adquently...Faith.
I have in the past at times became agnostic, because of what life handed me.  Yet, inside I knew...
He helped me heal from the past...He helped me to learn to forgive...He helped me learn we are all on a journey, and you never know whom you might meet in daily living that either they or you will help on this journey.
I am not a religous fanatic.  It is up to everyone their own concept of God, or whatever one choices to call their Higher Power, or whether one believe or not.  It is not for us to judge others.
All I know, is the God of my understanding helped me find peace within...even though life was hard.  Now, I am at peace with myself, and only He could have done this.
Good luck on your journy...no matter what you believe, my friend.

I see my son has voiced his reply....and I'll only add this....the answers to this question can be found in Judges, 6 and 7...just cross out Israel and the intruders mentioned, and put in any country you wish and put in terrorists....and as far as the part about the false Gods?...Put in the one you choose....but, the best answers are also in Proverbs...1..verses 24 thru 31....Misery made beautiful perhaps has read this?.....Man screws up, not God....Most of the trouble in this world right now dates back to when Israel did not destroy the tribes that they were instructed to do.....they are almost all the same people that are the terrorists we hear about today.....

Humans bring hate and evil to the world not God. If God was just to tell us what to do and we did it and had no control over anything whats the point? We were put here and we were put here knwing there was such thing as people beliveing in God and such, it is our choice wether we keep him in our heart.   God will be there as long as you live on earth if you have faith in him. Todays world stears us towards believing in fact and things that are proven. Sometimes you need to look passed that. Im not gonna tell you to just start believing but its worth trying to understand and that might lead you towards knowing the diffrence between actually beliving and just saying you do.....

We can't make God be there for other people...we can't even make him be there for us...but if we choose to believe in a God he will reveal himself to us...in what way?... in a personal relationship between a man, a woman and their creator...to some people that is important...just some thoughts...James
