Too old to be young , yet….too young to be old
Autumn passes at a walking pace
as Winter waits beyond the snow covered
mountains of life

The climb steep,  the trek unknown
as sands flow through the hourglass
in an endless fall of life’s granules.

Lord,  I am  afraid,  I know not the way.
I stumble,  I fall,  my lungs gasp for air.
Take my hand,  guide me.

You gave me life and the beat of a heart
The feelings,  the emotions,  the fears
The pains of loss,  the joy of birth.

Lord,  those losses…I have grieved many days
as I look into a past of shadows.
Of memories that are here within,
yet fading as time passes.

Let not those I love feel the grief that I have felt upon the passing of my Winter.

Let them  remember those things good,
those things pleasant.

Let the wisdom of my trials be remembered
only that they may learn from them.

Lastly,  give me the courage to continue
my walk as each new day brings to me
more memories

As Autumn brings Spring into the lives of my children.

(big hugggssssss) Oh Barry, this is such a powerful prayer with enormous depth, I know He will fulfill your request as all your loved ones couldn't ask for anything more from the love and memories you share with them all as those you lost will forever be safe and never be forgotten as they will never forget you! (sigh) May everyday be filled with promise and may each smiling day have you singing hosannas from the bottom of your heart, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Barry, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

What wonderful words you have posted Magnus.  We all fear the unknown.  But day by day we make new lasting memories for those we leave behind.  Excellent read.

A powerful accounting of the years and fears life brings to us. And your children will go through this as well.... it is a path we all walk... may we all walk it together, and converge from the darkness into the light.... of LIFE. and in the meantime, enjoy the winding trail.

Love, Light and Peace,
Sherry

Cherish the good memories past and look forward to the adventure called Tomorrow.
But above all... be kind to yourself today.

Barry I think you dislike this aging thing as much as I do.
Enjoyed the beautiful poem that came out of the feelings.

Well done!
You have begun
a poem spun
from your inspiration.

I hope you don't mind
that my muse is on the loose
and soon will choose
to put ink to screen
to find the scene
you're growing in my mind.

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

Barry...not only should you frame this...
but you should print several copies and take it to everyone in nursing homes...retirement villages...hospitals...for it is an everlasting promise of all the good that should ever come to visit earth...

Gosh,  I sat down last night,  in one of
those reflective moods.  I have been doing
that a lot lately....

And I wanted to write something deep,  from
within my soul that said something about me.

I wanted to share,  that others might feel
the feelings that I have felt....Knowing in
my mind that there are many others that
have...

I never realized I would put on these pages
something that would affect us all as it
seems to have....

Thank You,  each of you,  you are all a part
of this poet's heart...
