Once

I once ran in walking shoes
through the walls of rain
that burnt tender kisses
on the heels of my wishes
and I held my thoughts
in gasping gazes
that trembled to breathe
of you.

I once knew the sound of purple
and the taste of mercy on palms
that taught me how to speak
without eyes.

I once dreamed in sleeplessness
watching the replay of beginnings
blurred by the speed of slow motion
as timeless moments ticked away
until tomorrow became forever
and you an obsession once known.

Once should never be enough. Go back for a second helping. No one will be looking, you'll be glad you did...

The reading of this makes one breathless, as if running.

Very well done, DeaDi
