bowl of shredded wheat
humongous in size, eerie
steel, dust, confetti

thanks to Magnus..I got it too, the confetti was misleading for me though as were the wheaties..I saw this at an international language school where it should not have been aired in class.

Confetti, of course, being the millions of
pieces of paper that came raining down...

think about what the large shredded wheat biscuits look like when you cut into the center of them...the strands of broken wheat, stand up, going every which way

it is an overly simplistic way, perhaps, of describing the scene,

but could it be an apt description...the lives and the structures were greatly insulted and torn asunder

like shredded steel and paper being turned to no more than dust and confetti

confetti is usually a celebration...the horrid irony of what all was transformed into

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.
