‘Deer’s Birthday Wish
a duet by the Mushettes

We’ve joined together just to say
Have a really
Happy Birthday
You bring such fun to this place
With your style
Wit and grace

Just for you
We’ve joined together
To write these lines, just a few
Although it took forever
Her words don’t dance they refuse to sing
They don’t leap and fly
They don’t do anything

Krissy can’t write that we all know
So I’m here
To help the words flow
For you deserve the very best
And Krissy can’t write
As well as the rest

Spouting off that rot
She’s lying as usual but I am not
Your writing deserves my
Utmost respect
I’m left in awe
You write so well
That your words just soar

See I can do rhyme
My little sis
And now get out of my
Way while I give ‘Deer a kiss

Happy Birthday ‘Deer
You are a prince of poetic light
And I thank you for
Your constant delight

Krissy darling sips just say your piece
And your awful writing
Simply cease
‘Deer we both wish you a great day
So together we chorus
HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Krissy and Emma

And while thy willing soul transpiers
at every pore with instant fires

Now, girls, don't you know
fighting over 'Deer just won't do?
Birthday greetings with smiles must please
our Balladeer, 'tis true!

His laughter must be heard
as he reads your every word!

Charming, girls...you'll cast smiles all over the blue walls with this ditty...

Look out world!  It's the dynamic, rhymatic duo!  ~insert superhero theme music here~

Even tho you may differ as to who among the Mushettes is the 'True Poet', you both bring that loose thread together in a knot of praise for a fine fine poet:  Balladeer

Not just a birthday wish, Mr. Balladeer, but also we all say Thank you! for gracing us with your time, words and wisdom.

Krissy gal, hope you are doing well.  We think about y'all there all the time and want to hear about how school is going when it resumes, ok?  *s*   Be good, love well, and learn life with your heart.

Counting the Reasons - A Birthday Poem for Balladeer

I think I will stay home today and celebrate your birth --
examine all the reasons why God put you here on earth.
I'll count the reasons one by one, and count them once again,
the first one is so obvious -- to hold your fountain pen --
That's reason one, I guess, my 'deer, that God has put you here --
to write fine verse and bring to light life's circumstances clear.
But there are oh so many more -- my counting's just beginning--
The ball's been pitched and I am at the top of the first inning.
Your spirit, heart and honesty, are reasons two, three, four --
but, Michael, I've just started, there are oh so many more.
Your kindness and your giving nature, reasons five and six --
this counting could go on all day, that's what my heart predicts!
This is the top of inning number one, with eight to go --
I could be counting 'til the winter when it starts to snow!
I took just one day off from work to count and celebrate --
I think I'll have to call my job and tell them I'll be late!
One day to count is not enough -- I'll need to take vacation --
these words are just a small attempt to show my admiration.
I better stop this poetry, return to counting reasons --
before the summer fades to fall and God changes the seasons.

Happy Birthday, Michael

LOL … I wish I could see the grin on Michael's face when he reads your post Krissy and Emma … he will be delighted!!!  I'm grinning away myself here ladies!

Dear Michael, I would be remiss,
If I did not extend a kiss,
These lovely ladies started it …
I'd like to join, if they see fit.

Now if you wouldn't mind, my friend,
There's something else I shall append;
I'll add a hug across the miles,
For all you are … for all your smiles.

Thank you two, for the wonderful read ...

Best Wishes to you both, and a Happy Birthday to Michael!
/Kit

This reads like ever sheer delight
to see these poet sisters fight
I know they must be pretending today
but sincere is their wish for Michael's birthday

Happy Birthday Michael...and I hope that this is your most wonderful year ever.

Two Mushettes, aka Emma & Krissy
Got themselves today real busy
They wrote a poem for this 'ol' Deer
And wrote it a bit in his way I fear

They nagged each other like he does Toe
And it was such fun to read you know
Keep it up girls this poem was real good
It sure will bring this old Deer in the mood

Krissy and Emma,
your poem's a fine mixture of copper and zinc
to wish happy birthday and show how you think
I don't want to remind you or even be crass -
mix those alloys together you end up with brass
you've given something to Deer that he won't forget
your jointed effort is the best I've heard yet
my final comment I'll give you a hand
to wish happy birthday, you've brought the brass band.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEER! (I'm saying it loud because at your age...)

Keth

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown

(BIG HUGGGSSSSSSS) O' Krissy and Emma, can't you see all this sibling rivalry is tearing your mom apart? Oh, that's right, she's in it too! LOL! Anyway, I really loved this beautiful duet, you two are both outstanding writers, now kiss and make up! (smiles) This is wonderful, sweet friends, we all love you both so much! You have such beautiful hearts, sweet Krissy and Emma, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Oh, you two are a real piece of work!!! LOL! This is wonderful and the way you two banter back and forth with each other is humor at its very best! What a team all three of you make

Thank you for this wonderful display of acknowledgement to this ole broken-down balladeer who is fading rapidly with the passage of time. This one goes into my favorites to live forever....

I'll read it again on my birthday....the 18th

Deer a Virgo?
I think not -
He's a Lion
And sizzlin' hot! *G*

Krissy and Emma: Usually when I read a duet, I'm pleased when I can't tell what lines were written by which author for I think a duet should be seamless. *S* But in this case, the lack of harmony is what makes such a fine duet! LOL This is delightful. *S*

Thank you all for all the early wishes and you, Suthern gal, for setting the record straight...Leo all the way!

Not your fault, devina, the dynamic duo had the date a little early. It's the 18th...
